Most Americans eat way too much salt and sugar and they don’t even know it. Sometimes it’s not because of the sugar and salt they add to their food and drinks but how the foods and drinks they choose were made. Processed foods are packed with sodium and sugar which can be very bad for your health and make it almost impossible to reach your goals. But who doesn’t love a little salty crunch once in a while and enjoy a sweet dessert? As your coach, I show you ways to satisfy your cravings and still stick to your program. the key here is to be in control of what you’re eating, eat to fuel your body, and make deliberate choices. This is easy when you cook your own meals and flavor them how you want. To sweeten use natural sugars like stevia or monk fruit instead of white sugar and use no salt seasoning when cooking, they are very flavorful and you’ll be able to taste more of the natural flavors of food. For recipes that require a little salt, use pink Himalayan, and for those crunchy sweet cravings try rice cakes. The chocolate rice cakes are my favorite and I top it with some all-natural nut butter and strawberries to make a healthy sandwich that hits the spot every time.
